Modern asphalt and macadams contain additives that greatly increase durability and longevity. Machine laid materials are avaiable for industrial use that offer oil and chemical resistant properties, and for areas of poor drainage, open graded 'porous' materials allow surface water to pass through for natural dispersion.
ESC will always fully assess your project to ensure the correct material is utilised to the required laying method and specification.
The surface of this industrial area was badly deteriorated and, due to an inadequate drainage system, was prone to flooding.
The only practical solution was the complete removal of the old surface and the fitting of additional heavy duty 'Hepworth' type drainage hoppers. SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) was used to withstand the use of fork lift trucks and heavy vehicle usage and provide a durable surface which we can confidently say will give a great many trouble free years.
ESC were recently awarded the contract to create a suitable base in order to display this spectacular modern sculpture in a city center park.
The base had to be practical, durable and be in keeping with the style of the sculpture and the environment.
Resin bonded surface dressing over a concrete base edged with pavior blocks were considered the perfect combination for both longevity and attractive appearance.
Several major areas on this private road had deteriorated and required replacement.
The Tarmac wearing course was removed using a road planing machine to provide a sound, keyed base. This was then thoroughly swept clean and primed with K140 liquid bitumen ('Tack-Coat') before the new Tarmac was surface laid.
On the strength of our previous work at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club, (roads, car park construction, paths
) ESC were the first choice to supply surfacing works as part of their multi-million pound re-development program. Below is a small selection of pictures taken during the landscaping and pathway improvements phase.
This project involved the transformation of over-grown waste land to the side of this Berkshire based warehouse unit into an additional parking facility for their staff.
Engineering bricks were used to enclose the area before the groundworks could commence and a resin bonded walkway was created from the doorway to improve pedestrian safety.
